Corporate Jazz

Feelin' jazzy? Or more specifically, feelin' swingy? If so, the night is right for Jazz in the Woods, the two-day music festival hosted by the Overland Park South Rotary Club at Corporate Woods (9401 Indian Creek Parkway, in Overland Park). The headliner at 9:10 p.m. tonight is Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the swing-revival band that hit it big in the 1990s with songs on the Swingers soundtrack. However, jazz thirsts can be quenched by the Monterey Jazz Festival Youth Chorus at 5:15, the All-Star Youth Band at 6:30, and the smooth sounds of Jeff Golub at 7:50. The festival began Friday at 6:30 p.m. Leave pets and outside coolers at home for this free event. Food and drink vendors and children's activities are available. For more festival information, see jazzinthewoods.com.

Fri., June 24, 6:30 p.m.; Sat., June 25, 5:15 p.m., 2011
