Restaurant Details

Yes, this suburban diner is unquestionably cozy. It’s named for its owner – Kozeta Kreka of Pogradec, Albania – who transformed a long-vacant convenience store into a tidy, casual dining spot that serves breakfast all day as well as a selection of European and American sandwiches and home-style dinners that typically include a salad, potatoes and vegetables. And while Kreka offers the standard Golden Boy fruit and cream pies, she also bakes her own flaky baklava. This may be the most European American diner in the metro. — Charles Ferruzza

Went there for breakfast with my wife. Our order was timely and not bad but i ordered coffee to drink when my breakfast was served i had less than half a cup was not asked if i wanted more finnaly when my check was brought I was asked if I needed anything else I replied yes I would like another cup of coffee As the lady sitting next to our table had been trying to get someones attention also that she needed a refill I was told by kozy that all i have to do is ask in a very rude manner. Since i was about to leave anyway i just said well you guys were to busy to get anyones attention. The kafe was not packed just seemed they had no time to check on customers before they brought the check. Honestly my wife replied to me she thought kozy was very rude and she did not want to return. as my feelings are the same way. I usually dont post many reviews but this one I felt needed to be shared.

You receive a warm welcome when you come through the door, given by the owner, Albanian-born Kozy. The food here is fresh and tastes wonderful. I ordered a grilled sandwich of cheese (I wish I could remember what kind), basil, tomato, and a drizzle of honey ... Heaven! It was served with a salad of fresh mixed greens tossed with a very light vinagrette. It was perfect! The price was perfect as well! I returned with family a few weeks later. My sister had the cheese tortellini with ham & alfredo sauce for $9.99. Not only was it spectacular, it was an enormous portion. My niece had the special of the day, lasagna. I can't remember if it was $8 or $9.99. She ate every bite and ooh'd and aah'd the whole time! I chose another special of Tilapia and was also delighted with the light, flaky, results. The only downside to this wonderful restaurant is that it's just too bright at dinner. It's fine during the day to be sitting under bright light, but at dinner, a bit more subdued lighting would be nice. But it doesn't bother me enough to stay home. The food is too good to miss out on one of those terrific specials. I highly recommend it!
