Crossroads Cuisine

If gazing at art, gawking at people and feeling in with the in crowd make up the allure of First Fridays in the Crossroads District, then the second Sunday of this month focuses on a more primal instinct: hunger. Today — from 3 to 8 p.m., rain or shine — the first Taste of the Crossroads happens in the Freight House parking lot (101 West 22nd Street) behind Lidia's Kansas City, City Tavern and Jack Stack Barbecue. For the cost of one ticket — $20 plus tax for adults (children 10 and under get in free, and beverages may be purchased separately from vendors) — participants can sample tantalizing tastes from an array of popular Crossroads restaurants, including the Cashew, City Tavern, Grinders, the Czar Bar, Los Tules, Manny's, Lidia's and the Webster House, among others. Accompanying the food are musical performances by Anna Lee and the Lucky So and Sos. For more information, see tasteofthecrossroads.org.
