With every Olympics, it seems, we learn about a new sport. Last winter, we were mesmerized by the biathlon, the event that combines skiing and skeet. But we’re truly charmed by curling, a game that requires players to throw stones on the ice.

Learn to curl tonight with the Kansas City Curling Club’s 5:50 class at Pepsi Ice Midwest (12140 West 135th Street in Olathe) — it’s only $10. Then stick around for its summer-game series (from 6:15 to 7:45 tonight and every Wednesday through August 30). Play once for $20 or register for the whole series and get a discount.
