Westport may be the place to get hammered, but no other venue there encourages drinkers to go at it as fast and hard as the Dark Horse does. For a gender-specific price, one can participate in “power hours” — the two-hour, all-you-can-drink, well-and-draft special on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Though it tends to bring in an extremely noisy, sizable throng of college students and service-industry folks at those times, the Dark Horse is generally casual and friendly the rest of the week. A decent choice for watching a KU basketball game or having a last-call drink, the Dark Horse also has Torre’s Pizzeria in the back for hungry people. It’s the closest thing to Lawrence in Westport.
