What's the difference between Dead Girl Derby and the Kansas City Roller Warriors? DGD plays by Modern Athletic Derby Endeavor rules, while the Roller Warriors go by Women's Flat-Track Derby Association rules. "Our game is a bit faster, and we hit harder," says Leah Dixon, DGD's PR manager. Today's double-header matchup features the Deadly Sirens versus the Shotgun Sheilas and the Royal Pains versus the Lovely Lethals in the Mutiny Match-Up: Battle for Booty. The game gets rolling at 6 p.m. at River Roll Skate Center (4720 Northwest Gateway, 816-587-0131). Tickets cost $14 at the door; or purchase them online at brownpapertickets.com/event/217757. "The league is comprised of over 80 members, all volunteers who show up for the love of derby," Dixon says. Think this might be you? DGD needs skaters and refs.
