Demonstrators turn out for "Coffee with Cleaver"
August 10, 2009
U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver's regular Saturday-morning meeting with constituents at JP Coffee in Lee's Summit turned into a mob scene on August 8 when crowds protesting health-care reform showed up demanding a "town hall meeting" -- and supporters of health-care reform turned out to counter the expected disruptions.
By 8 a.m., the coffee shop was already packed and a crowd was waiting outside.
