If you feel trepidation about approaching Martini Corner on a Sunday evening, be advised that the
prix-fixe dinner at The Drop (409 East 31st Street, 816-756-3767) from 5 to 10 p.m. is an excellent justification for avoiding the end-of-weekend "nesting" behavior associated with, oh, let's say, your mom and dad. While they're curled up in their housecoats watching Animal Planet -- and, yes, we did just say that your dad wears a housecoat -- you and a companion will be enjoying your choice of starters: hummus, the olive tray or smoked salmon; a salad: field greens, arugula, panzanella or Caesar; and an order of bruschetta from the menu's 14 varieties. It's $45 for two, including dessert and a bottle of wine.
