DJ Pure started spinning at house parties around the Southwest Missouri State University campus (now Missouri State) several years ago. Nowadays, Pure finds himself back in Lee's Summit, gigging at Paddy O'Quigley's every Friday and Saturday night in the basement. We dropped in on Pure one night at Paddy O's to catch him pumping out pop, R&B, house, trance and popular mainstream hip-hop tracks from this summer, last summer and the one before that. But when he drops "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry, the place goes cuckoo every time. It's a can't-miss hit in the 'burbs, if there ever was such a thing. Lee's Summit is the type of town where fools post up in the club in flip-flops. And lots of tube tops and lots and lots of Hollister. Despite the soccer-momish scene, Pure gets people dancing every weekend. And that's all that matters.
