Restaurant Details

This unassuming Mexican joint hasn’t changed much since it opened 35 years ago. Behind the steam table, a speedy kitchen crew whips up tacos, enchiladas and six different burritos, splashing them with one of four sauces and popping them into shiny microwave ovens. It’s devoid of any glamour, but fans love the cheap prices, the overstuffed burritos drenched in bright-orange queso and the serve-yourself tortilla-chip bar decked out with fresh chips, a mild dipping sauce and sugary fried sopapilla pillows. — Charles Ferruzza
