Down by the River

It's hard to get enough of Parkville's lush English Landing Park (First Street and Main) in the summertime. This weekend, the expanse of trees and green, with a river running through, is home to the annual Parkville Days Riverfest. The family-friendly party includes 100-plus vendors of arts, crafts and food, plus a carnival for the kids and live music on the park's outdoor stage. The festival, which began Friday from 6 to 10 p.m., resumes today at 10 a.m. with a parade through downtown. Vendors close at 10 p.m. but open again Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. See parkvillemo.org.
Fri., Aug. 20, 6-10 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 21, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sun., Aug. 22, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 2010
