RAW: Natural Born Artists, a nationwide independent arts organization, is all about diversity. "We bring together artists from all genres — film, photography, visual art, performing art, music, fashion, hair styling, and makeup artistry — for one collaborative showcase," says the group's Gabrielle Gray. The result is a showcase, on the third Thursday of each month, at the Uptown Theater (3700 Broadway, 816-753-8665). This month's theme: "Ensemble." Gray says, "Our team here in Kansas City decided to book fashion-heavy for this month, and we'll be showcasing 12 fashion designers, five of which are accessories designers."
