Eroica Trio

Sunday, November 2, at the Music Hall.

Often optimistically mislabeled the Erotica Trio by instantly enamored fans who have seen its strikingly stylish album covers, the all-female, piano-violin-cello, three-piece Eroica Trio only enhances its spell once the music starts. Its sixth CD teams the Trio with the Prague Chamber Orchestra, which will also join it onstage at this performance. Beethoven's "Triple Concerto" ranks among the album's highlights; Eroica plays it more often than any other touring trio, and practice has made its arrangement near-perfect. Both ensembles excel at live performance, with the Trio emphasizing exuberance and the 34-member orchestra achieving an intimate feel by playing without a conductor. Note to those classical-music-loving football junkies: The Chiefs are off this week, so you need not fret about the show's 3 p.m. Sunday start time.
