Ex-Models

Friday, February 25, at the Jackpot Saloon.

The Ex-Models attempt to inspire spastic dancing convulsions with playful art rock that features high-pitched singing, whines and yelps that constantly lead cock-rock lead guitar and drums to places unknown. The band's Other Mathematics is discordant and mentally jarring but has a twinge of Blood Brothers-like pop sensibility. Meanwhile, the band's other release, Zoo Psychology, finds the Ex-Models turning up the insanity and causing sensitive listeners to scramble for their earplugs. The less brave may shy away from this sort of mayhem, but those who see the band's potential amid the chaos can leave this show with bragging rights, ready for use whenever the band ventures into a new sound in the future.
