Restaurant Details

A hidden treasure in a Raytown shopping strip, this small restaurant is the pride and joy of owner Andres Orozco, and if you let him, he’ll order for you from his extensive menu of creative Mexican dishes. Orozco knows best, and even if he doesn’t get to choose your meal, he’ll suggest something more creative — maybe grilled beef tips scattered over a pile of hot grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms and slivers of cactus in a sexy chipotle cream sauce — instead of a taco or burrito platter. For those who prefer more familiar fare, those tacos and burritos are excellent. But not tasting Orozco’s sautéed pork medallions in a poblano cream sauce is a sin. Fans of this restaurant insist the margaritas here are the best in the city. — Charles Ferruzza

Fiesta Azteca has moved to:
705 SE Melody Ln (Highway 50 East and Highway 291 North)
Lees Summit, MO 64063
On the east side of 291 North in the old Pizza Shoppe space next to LaMar's Donuts.
Much nicer place, bigger kitchen and the food is still wonderful.
