Fitzs Blarney Stone, an Irish-themed neighborhood institution, is one of the oldest bars in the city one that opens at 9 a.m. and serves some of the cheapest drinks in midtown. Brightly lighted on the inside, its a no-frills corner bar that entertains a gentle crowd of thespians, young Westport service-industry workers, and old friends. Its a good hiding place to hole up all day long or at least for happy hour, which lasts from opening until 6 p.m.
