Flogging Molly

Sunday, September 1, at the Brookside Irish Fest, 63rd and Brookside Plaza.

With the possible exception of Will Smith, no musical act gets jiggy with it better than Flogging Molly, an L.A. septet that mixes beer-battered Irish fare with hot-stepping punk. Having just wrapped up a lengthy stint on the Warped Tour, the Cali shamrockers are returning to KC to headline the annual Brookside Irish Fest. The two-day affair features the cream of area pub-crawlers -- including the Elders and Bob Reeder -- alongside lucky charmers such as Eileen Ivers, whom the venerable New York Times once called the "Jimi Hendrix of violin."
