Founded in 1999, the Northland Exposure Artists' Gallery (110 Main, Parkville, 816-746-6300) offers a scholarship each year to Northland high-school seniors who plan to study visual art. The scholarship is funded in part by the gallery's annual Blue Dot Silent Auction
. Today's closing reception, from 1 to 4 p.m., marks the last day to bid on exhibited work by area artists while drinking wine and nibbling canapés. Scholarship committee member Donna Corben says, "It's not only 2-D work. We also have jewelry, fabric art, pottery and wood art. We have a print bin that's all Blue Dot material for the auction. The way it works is that the artist donates work, and the minimum bid is 30 percent of the tagged price." For more information, see northlandartists.com
