For years, the orange-and-purple stucco building at Fifth and Elm streets (formerly home to the Latino Si nightclub) in North Lawrence was considered an eyesore. In early March, neighbors noticed the building and gave it a much-needed makeover. It's finally open. Frank’s North Star Tavern (508 Locust, 785-856-5080) has become the newest drinking destination in Lawrence, and it’s a far cry from the Latino Si days.
