Go Kart

These days, Larry Groce and Brad Gaddy kick out new-wave jams with their in-demand cover band, the Zeros. But long before they ever pulled in four figures per gig, Groce and Gaddy were half of Go Kart, a riffy Kansas City outfit that paired the hooks of Cheap Trick with the ripped-jeans rock of Soul Asylum and the Replacements. The band hasn't written a new song since the turn of the century, but every couple of years the members get sweet-talked into reuniting. Be sure to arrive early (9 p.m.) for Friday night's show — Groce and Gaddy have to skedaddle on over to the Brooksider for their late-night money gig.
