grand selection

There are many farmers markets in the metro during the summer months, but none with as regal a name as the Grand Court Farmers Market, the year-round community market held on the grounds of the Grand Court Retirement Center at 107th Street and Wornall. It's not as grand as it sounds, but the retirement center permits vendors to sell inside the facility in bad weather, which is certainly gracious. The market operates from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday and features an array of mushrooms, homemade breads and canned goods, locally grown organic produce, soaps and lotions, starter plants, angel food cakes, fresh cheese and butter, and a variety of other interesting offerings. A massage practitioner is usually on hand as well. For more information, call 816-966-9446.
Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., 2010
