This burger joint is openly and ambitiously gay, although its staff mostly waiters, all dimpled and as cherubic as altar boys welcome every possible orientation. The burgers here arent exactly gourmet; Marys has more in common with a small-town malt shop or a diner than a big-city burger bistro. There are a few non-burger entrées and salads, but those items lean toward the nostalgic: patty melts, meatloaf platters and root-beer floats. The décor is as loud as the incessant disco beat in this perpetually cheery dining room. The ambience is probably more memorable than the food, especially when one of the staff dashes into the bar part of the restaurant to do an emotionally wrought karaoke number. Youll feel like a queen, all right, whether you want to. — Charles Ferruzza

Comfort. Food.
Really, what's more to say? Amazing burgers, great fried pickles, and the meatloaf sandwich .......ooooooooohhhh!
Sassy/friendly wait staff, big portions, friendly bartenders. Sometimes loud; and the upstairs deck in summer? Did someone say "Happy Hour"?
I would be happy to give them 4 stars, as their food is good, but be prepared for the slow and spotty service. I have eaten there 10 - 15 times (they are very conveniently located for me at lunchtime) since they opened, but I don't go more often because it takes so long. Also, there are not many lowfat options - lots of deliciously unhealthy ones though!
