If you’re cruising for a port of call to throw back some grog, then follow the beacon and drop anchor at Harbour Lights, a straight-ahead bar in downtown Lawrence. They periodically have live music, but their forte is just slinging beer. Not that there’s a lack of activities to keep you busy as you drink — they’ve got two pool tables, dart boards, foosball tables and even a pizza parlor-style Ms. Pacman video-game table. The crowd is laid back (except on KU game days; the big screens draw a crowd) and on the townie end of the spectrum. They’ve got a great selection of micro-brews on tap, which you can enjoy with a smoke in their spacious back patio.
