Local bartending legend Harry Murphy finally got his bar. The namesake of Harry's in Westport, Murphy opened his own version of Harry's in the River Market downtown in 2003. The place is sophisticated -- bartenders serve top-shelf martinis and Waldorf salads while wearing neat, white aprons and black ties -- but really, with all the country memorabilia on the walls and the stellar jukebox, the place is a modified honky-tonk joint. Bologna sandwiches and yard beers (Falstaff, Schlitz, PBR) are all the rage and are best enjoyed on the picnic tables outside on the large patio. During the summer, bands play on the weekends, keeping the place busy with people who come to hear music, see how many cans of Schlitz they can drink in one evening, or just say hello to Harry.
