Watch out for that flying potato.

Hey, Speeders

Watch out for that flying potato.

Hey, you, idiots who feel the need to drive 60 mph on North Garfield Avenue between Englewood and North Vivion Road. Be warned: I'm building a potato gun. I plan a sustained mission to hole up on the roof of my house and snipe your cars as you barrel past as if my street were your private Kansas Speedway. Did you see the sign saying "SLOW — CHILDREN AT PLAY"? This is a quiet, residential neighborhood peppered with children. It's also quite hilly, making it impossible to see everything that is in your immediate path, which includes my driveway. Maybe that's the reason for the 25 mph speed limit, hmm? When one of you finally smears some child across the pavement, maybe the police will start paying attention. But since there is nary a speed trap in sight these days, me and my potato gun are in your near future.

I know how you feel i live on a quiet lil street over by NKC hospital and there is a low income apartment accross from my home. well you see some of the residents there are great about their speedlimit and trash but the others (younger groups) treat the neighborhood like it is their speedway and trashcan! i am sick of it too! calling and complaining doesnt do enough so like you dear sir i will join you on my rooftop with a potato gun and serve warnings to the locals! hopefully befor a child gets hurt or worse KILLED! you all need to slow down and take consideration that the speed limit is there for a reason!!!!!!!!

I agree I don't live in that area but I have lived on streets here in kc where they think that the speed limit signs are just there to take up space or it just a suggested speed limit and of course this wonderful city of ours has other things to do then to make sure that the pedestrians and children playing are not in any danger from a car going 45 in a 25..... I'm not saying that the police are not doing their jobs but come on how many dang parking meeter police do we need in the down town midtown area??? I live in brookside now and drive thew on my way to the Airport and everyday both morning and night I usually see 4 different parking meeter police, for god sake they would make more off of a couple of tickets in a residental area then they would giving out 10 parking tickets!!!!!
