The organization Imago Dei is on a mission to unite community, Christianity and the arts. The nonprofits fall exhibition, No Hope No Faith, takes its title from the Bible verse Ephesians 2:12, which says those who have no faith are separate from Christ and "without hope." The exhibit features calligraphy and woodcuts by David Johnson, a former art professor at William Jewell College. Johnson's calligraphy features biblically inspired verse, hand-lettered and arranged artfully on the page. The opening reception takes place today from 5 to 8 p.m., but you can see the exhibition through January 2 at the Imago Dei Arts Center, located in the Granada Theatre (1015 Minnesota in Kansas City, Kansas, 913-233-0266).
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Dec. 1. Continues through Jan. 2, 2009
