I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House

I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House sounds like it fits neatly on the concert poster next to our two favorite imaginary acts, the punk band Urinal Ice and the Scottish-pop outfit Lickable Nipples (who play in suits with the nipples cut out). Seriously, though, these guys aren't foolin' on their latest bare-knuckled effort, Menace. Sure, there's plenty of garden-variety heart-wrenching, whiskey-drenched, alt-country fare about lost loved ones ("Fall Down"), cheatin' ("A Good Day to Be a Bad Husband") and Grandma ("Pauline"), but the chairs and broken pool cues really start flying with "Westboro Baptist Church," when lead singer and former army boxer Mike Damron gently urges listeners to fuck Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church, fuck him long and hard until his rectum hurts. Damron has a similar view of President Bush, evangelist Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson and the war in Iraq, and if you've got a problem with it, he and his bandmates might have a suggestion or two for you in return.
