I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House

In the end, what may be most remarkable about the Stones' horny Exile on Main Street is the way it continues to spread its seed like Genghis Khan. To produce Portland's I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In the House, Exile must have come to life and had its way with the political punk of the Pacific Northwest. The result is something like Southern rock for pissed liberals. If that doesn't sound like a flavor the world needs, just listen to drawling bandleader Mike Damron rant about oil wars and homophobes over raw-steel boogie. SOB's new concert testament, Live at Dantés, achieves a thick funk that many bands actually from the South can't touch — sorta like a certain album from 1972.
