It's Friday — You in Love?

The Robert Smith Halloween costume is not easy. The time and money invested in hairspray and lipstick alone can deter even the most dedicated superfan. A cheaper solution might be an Einstein wig and a red Sharpie. (You already own an ass-kicking pair of black Doc Martens, a bucket of mascara and white face powder, right?) Wait a sec — are we talking about zombies or everyone's favorite bloated goth-pop icon? Either way, you won't want to miss the chance to show off your best Robert Smith imitation when Magfuckingnificent plays at 10 p.m. at the Brick (1727 McGee, 816-421-1634). The Cure tribute made up of veteran local rockers Byron Huhmann, Jeremiah James, John Hulston, Ryan Shank and Dave Gaume lays claim to a repertoire spanning 30 songs and three decades. They don't typically dress up like the Cure, but that could change tonight if any of them have eyes on the costume contest.
