With live performances every night (if you count karaoke), the Jazzhaus is one of Lawrence’s most active music venues -- even if they don’t have much jazz. What they do have are acts and activities that you won’t often find at traditional rock venues: jam bands, stand-up comedy, swing, poetry readings, singer-songwriters, and more. Located on the second floor of a historic downtown building, the Jazzhaus feels like a giant loft. The atmosphere is relaxed and candle lit, with art on the walls as eclectic as the bar's musical tastes. Perched on the top floor, the rooftop patio is a nice place to catch some air or have a smoke.
