John's Big Deck in the heart of downtown has three stories of drinking pleasure for all types. The mostly female staff serves up draft beers in red plastic cups and cheap bar food in white Styrofoam boxes seven days a week on at least one of the floors, depending on the time of day. Generally a mixed crowd, the place is definitely popping during the weekday happy hours and later, when the all-season top floor fills up with big groups of DST employees, assorted downtowners and kickball teams. Appealing to anyone who likes to drink outside and enjoy skyline views, John's usually has live entertainment (not including the oft-interesting people watching). Stay steady after multiple Jagerbombs, though – there are no elevator rides down.
