Kansas City MeatFest

Saturday, June 12, at the Brick.

I hear Starship built its city on rock and roll. That's super and all, but even the leathery, anemic bar whores who still request that song need to eat. Which is why we built this city on the desecrated (and delicious) carcasses of livestock. Toss in a little rock and roll and you have a concert event -- the Kansas City Meatfest --worth its weight in marinated pig flesh. For ten clams, you get a heaping helping of some poor defenseless (and delicious) animal while you watch a couple of the area's best bands. The secret is in the sauce, which will consist of some ten acts (several from Wichita). But the meat, as it were, of the roster will be mouthwatering locals such as Conner and the Black Rabbits. Eat up.
