Kelley Hunt

Kelley Hunt Whether she's writing music for a feature film, playing on A Prairie Home Companion or playing at yet another music festival, blues artist Kelley Hunt never seems to stop working. Saturday finds Hunt at the Uptown, where she'll host her third-annual Rockin' New Year's Eve Eve party, a benefit for community radio station KKFI 90.1 . A Kansas City native, Hunt plays a fervent style of music that traverses the blues landscape, from boogie-woogie to gospel to R&B. And the energy she brings to every performance should make celebrating New Year's Eve a day early worth it. — Todd Broockerd

Kelley Hunt, with special guests. Saturday, December 30, at the Uptown Theater.
