A first-degree murder warrant was issued for Mitchell C. Northern in the homicide of a man with the Our Lady of Guadalupe back tattoo whose burned body was found in the 5500 block of Kaw Drive in Kansas City, Kansas.

August's list of homicide victim's included an aspiring rapper, a 23-year-old man gunned down on his front porch and a UMKC student killed in his Shawnee apartment. Some victims found justice. There were sentences for Franklin Grammer for shooting his estranged wife point blank in the head after locking her in a headlock and Deonta Taylor, who was convicted of killing two men outside of a strip club. There were convictions against Juan Lopez and Eldier Molina for killing two brothers in KCK. And Jackson County prosecutors also filed charges against a 16-year-old boy who allegedly plotted to rob and kill his godfather, Kansas City businessman Michael Tutera.
