The L. H. Bluford Branch Library was dedicated in 1988 and is named for Lucile H. Bluford, publisher and editor of the Kansas City Call. The Bluford Branch Library hosts several regular programs: GED preparation classes - Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8:30 p.m. ACT/SAT preparation classes - Thursdays 5-7 p.m. Kujichagulia (a tutoring and mentoring program for young men ages 12-17) - Wednesdays 6-8:30 p.m. Kuumba Nia Teen Club African American Cultural Awareness Program
