Langhorne Slim is a throwback artist who sounds perfectly comfortable in the new alt-folk millennium. Mr. Slim, who travels with an upright-bass-and-drums duo dubbed the War Eagles, purveys an exuberant conflation of backporch folk, hill-country blues and ramshackle indie rock.
