Lee Rocker

You gotta feel a little sorry for Lee Rocker. While former Stray Cats frontman Brian Setzer continues to jump, jive and wail his way into the hearts, minds and wallets of the American mainstream, Rocker toils in relative obscurity. That's too bad given his energetic live show and its heavy emphasis on roof-raising antics. Since the Cats' first breakup in the mid-'80s, Rocker has recorded and toured consistently as a solo act, carving a niche as the go-to guy for rockabilly purveyors in need of authentic upright bass. And though it was Setzer who provided the Cats' primary creative thrust, Rocker fingered the unforgettable bass line that opened "Stray Cat Strut." Fortunately, those yearning to feel sexy and seventeen all over again need not be dismayed; Rocker and his fellow felines are reuniting for a summer tour.
