Little Brother

Wednesday, September 7, at the Bottleneck.

A few weeks ago, The Source's editor-in-chief resigned after a squabble over Little Brother's upcoming review. And while the magazine's October issue will only be awarding it a rating of four mics instead of the originally intended four and a half, The Minstrel Show is sure to be one of the most talked-about hip-hop albums of the year. Since LB's 2003 debut, rappers Big Pooh and Phonte have continued to earn heavy rotation with guest spots and solo projects aplenty. But this North Carolina trio's biggest star is DJ and producer 9th Wonder, whose old-school-seasoned beats have backed countless underground artists, as well as big names like Jay-Z and Destiny's Child. With all this recent success, LB is regrouping and hitting the road with The Commercial Free Tour, bringing along plenty of friends to help put on a show you can rave about -- without having to quit your day job.
