Los Lobos, Making Movies

When: Thu., July 26, 7 p.m. 2012
Price: $34.50 advance
Last September, local Afro-Cuban indie-rock act Making Movies opened for the legendary Latin-rock band Los Lobos at Knuckleheads. Los Lobos was impressed enough with Making Movies’ set to invite frontman Enrique Chi and percussionist Juan-Carlos Chaurand onstage for the encore. The encounter eventually led to Los Lobos member Steve Berlin offering to record Making Movies’ next album, which will be released later this year. The two bands reunite for this Knuckleheads street party — with food vendors and an area in front of the venue for folks to mingle and roam — which sounds like an excellent way to spend a summer evening.
