Restaurant Details

After a day trip to visit the Frontier Army Museum and the antique malls in historic Leavenworth, dinner at Mama Mia’s is a comforting finale. This family-owned restaurant is notable for its inexpensive but tender and juicy steaks as well as for its array of mildly seasoned (this is Kansas) pasta dishes, such as baked ziti and fettuccine. The tasty meatballs are gigantic, and the combo plate could easily feed two. But save room for the homemade bread pudding and apple brown betty. — Charles Ferruzza
