The Country Club Plaza is top-heavy with high-end steakhouses, so there were some naysayers when seafood-restaurant operators McCormick & Schmick’s brought its grill concept to the neighborhood. But M&S Grill is such a likable and friendly place, it’s easy to forget that the prices are nearly as hefty as those at the Capital Grill. The good news is that the portions are generous (and spuds are included in the dinner prices), the menu has some standouts (pot roast, filet mignon, T-bone, blackened chicken linguini) and some of the city’s most gorgeously gargantuan desserts can be had here. — Charles Ferruzza
