Market Fresh

Today marks one month since the Quindaro Market Place, a new weekend farmers market, opened at 1801 Quindaro in Kansas City, Kansas. Event organizer Richard Mabion says his main concern is to put healthy food in the neighborhood. To do that, he has recruited local farmers to peddle their fresh tomatoes, sweet potatoes, lettuce and more in the lot across the street from Wilson’s Pizza and Grill. Rain or shine, the Quindaro Market Place will be open from 2 to 7 p.m. Fridays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays through September 29. For more information, call Wilson’s Pizza and Grill at 913-439-9973.
Fridays, 2-7 p.m.; Saturdays, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sundays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: June 22. Continues through Sept. 29, 2007
