Martina McBride

Martina McBride grew up on a dairy farm near Medicine Lodge, Kansas, in that southern stretch of the state where dirt is red and folks are humble. But you won't find any cow dung on this diva's boots. The Celine Dion of country music, McBride has been known to take the stage in white spandex and raise her fists before impressive pyrotechnics. Her incredible pipes also recall Dion, often sounding more like a horn than a human. The latest McBride outing, Waking Up Laughing, is more mediocre pop-country, but her live show demands a Saturday Night Live follow-up for country's "greatest singer in the world!"
