One of the first venues to open in Kansas Citys Power and Light District, McFaddens is an Irish-themed sports bar and restaurant created by the New York-based East Coast Saloons chain. It's a big space more than 6,000 square feet and it gets more noisy and raucous as the night goes on. Women in high heels tend to rip the booths when they climb on tabletops to dance thats when McFaddens is more about boozing and babes than burgers and wings. The menu has a couple of Irish entrées to keep the Celtic theme kosher: shepherds pie, corned beef and cabbage, and ale-battered fried fish served with curried chips. The best-selling dishes, however, are traditional bar fare: mini cheeseburgers, bigger 8-ounce burgers (including a veggie version), Reuben sandwiches and a surprisingly faithful take on the classic Philly cheese steak.
