The original Lenexa location of this Italian venue has been so popular over the years (though some diners find the affection for the joint inexplicable) that the owners took over a former Papa Kenos near Brookside to put the concept in a neighborhood that truly needs a casual Italian dining spot. Its low-key (the napkins are paper, and there are no tablecloths), and the service is fair, but its cheery, and some of the daily specials can get pretty fancy. Although it doesnt feature as many inexpensive Italian-American favorites as you might expect, the menu is interesting enough, and theres a decent wine list. And, yes, there is pizza, including a Frankenstein-like creation called Acapulco Pizza made with Canadian bacon, pineapple, mushrooms and mozzarella. — Charles Ferruzza
