The conversation happening inside Michael's Lakewood Pub belies the quaint stone exterior of this strip-mall bar. It's the kind of place where friends drop pop-culture references with no regard for where they land, at least syntactically. The pub has a relaxed, laid-back vibe, thanks in part to the classic rock coming from the jukebox and minimal lighting (just a few lights over the bar and the shine of neon beer logos). Regulars rehash their days over cheap drafts and largely ignore the few televisions no HD flat screens here scattered around the room. A younger set comes by on Thursdays for DJ nights to dance; bands set up on the weekends in the large open space at the front of the pub.
