And coincidentally, it's also time for the eighth annual Mission Arts & Eats Festival outside in the parking lots of the Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center. Schedule: Friday, September 9, 4-10 p.m. : Food and arts/crafts vendors open for business Friday, September 9, 5-11:30 p.m. : Mission's State BBQ Contest Friday, September 9, 7-9 p.m. : Music by Charlie & the Stingrays Saturday, September 10, 7-11 a.m. : Rotary pancake breakfast Saturday, September 10, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. : Food and arts/crafts vendors open for business Saturday, September 10, 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. : Mission's State BBQ Contest Saturday, September 10, 1-2:30 p.m. : Music by the Olathe Jazz Band Saturday, September 10, 3:30 p.m. : BBQ Contest results announced
