Neil Young

If you had to sum up Neil Young's career in one word, "steadfast" would be a pretty good adjective. From Farm Aid in the 1980s to his scathing look at the Bush era on 2006's Living With War, Young has always practiced what he protested. Nowadays, the tetchy Mr. Shakey has taken his current cause — green-powered automobiles — to the street and to the studio. His latest release, Fork in the Road, is a concept album that also serves as the de facto jingle for his new company, LincVolt, which aims to help green-minded gearheads retrofit classic American cars (like his showcase '59 Lincoln) with electric, battery-powered engines. Looks like Neil will keep rockin' in the free world — as long as he can get at least 80 miles to the gallon.
