Nothing's Funnier Than Self-Hate

A self-described “pompous white dick with a beard,” Kyle Kinane is an up-and-coming misanthrope in the world of stand-up comedy. He recently released his first album, Death of the Party, and was named by Variety as one of this year’s “10 Comedians to Watch.” A former Chicagoan now living in Los Angeles, Kinane uses his gravelly voice to deliver good-natured yet scathing critiques of crappy jobs, hipsters and — more than anything — himself. This bard of self-loathing has been on tour this summer with Patton Oswalt (who counts himself as one of Kinane’s biggest fans), but he brings his solo show to Lawrence. His anecdotes about being poor, drunk and out of shape find a fitting a venue at the Replay Lounge (946 Massachusetts, 785-749-7676). The show starts at 10 p.m., and the cover is $3.
