Happy 50th Birthday, Mr. President, August 4! May the Goddess strengthen your spine.
Leo/Leo Rising* (July 22-Aug 22): A collateral benefit from the birther controversy was Mr. Obama placed his short form birth certificate on his official website almost 4 years ago. We, astrologers, nearly pissed our collective pants in joy. We could study his chart without having to vet how accurate the birth time was (FYI, I like the time to be within 15 minutes either way). As a Leo born near sunset, our president looks opposite (Aquarius rising) than he sees himself. He is seen as an exile, outsider and genius (Aquarius), but he really wants to operate from higher, heart centered, noble ideals (Leo). (Can you say bipartisanship?) You are ending a cycle that begun late August, 2009. What you have swept under the rug is coming out for all to see. Itd be better to stand by your convictions than to cave under the pressure of those you believe have less to lose than you. Youre born to learn courage which means you can behave so brilliantly to think youre above or can maneuver around conflict. Letting pressure out in small bursts is better than one dramatic explosion (mostly).
Virgo/Virgo Rising* (Aug 22-Sept 22): Our somewhat esteemed leader has Mars (self-assertion) in your sign. Meaning? He fights like you direct your life. Huh? Mars represents the primal side of our nature, the adrenaline of fight or flight response, the yang energy of self-direction and self-actualization. Like you, Mr. O has a cerebral connection to his root desires. Pundits love to say, He plays chess, when others are playing checkers However, sometimes life needs simplicity, not layers of intricate thought. With Mars entering the softer, embryo-like waters of Cancer (Aug 3-Sept 18), be prepared for a shift in rhetoric, from the carnival atmosphere to the highly irrational and tribal. Your lesson will be to use your brain to calm the heated feelings, and use your heart to inspire the best in all of us. The last 7 weeks, you were taken to task by anyone who wanted authority over, but not, with you. Lay down your innate pickiness to see how you may create mutually beneficial relationships as you fight for your shared ideals.
Libra/Libra Rising* (Sep 23-Oct 22): Like everyone our President does not have planets (teachers) in every sign (there are 12 signs and 9 planets, 2 dwarves that I count). Even though he has nothing in Libra, he still has a strong affinity with being Peacemaker, Negotiator or Conciliator-In Chief (depending on your political perspective). Through his wife he gets a calming and homespun influence (he has Venus in Cancer, the sign of the mother). When he speaks, you can tell his accent comes from her Midwestern (or possibly his mothers Kansas) dialect. Whatever. Your lesson this week is to watch yourself and how you trust others to have your best interests, a bit too much. Particularly in the area of career and professional reputation, you will have to fight (or at least figure out an angle or strategy) for your recognition. Maybe read The Art of War by Sun Tzu for tips.
Scorpio/Scorpio Rising* (Oct 23-Nov 21): Our POTUS has Neptune in Scorpio. Neptune, discovered in 1846, heralded in the Spiritualist Movement (Bahai, Jehovahs Witness, Mormons, etc.). Mediumship is said to begin with the Fox sisters in 1848, the same year the Communists Manifesto was written by Marx and Engels. Scorpio, you know you work with other peoples resources, Neptune heightens and ensures everyone gets a piece of the pie, as the move on up ala The Jeffersons. Count on the God of the seas to make clear issues vague. Our souls evolution (and BHO has certainly caused us all to grow, no matter where you are on the political spectrum) depends on the ethically gray areas. And, Scorpio knows much about the deep, dark and dank of human nature. Expect a more fiery Obama this year (could he have any less demonstrable fire? Read Aquarius for clues). Youll possess a bit more hot water emanating from you for the next 7 weeks. To soothe your savage beast searching for redemption, travel for pleasure is a good bet to break with your rigid routines. If you cannot physically manage it, then read something that is controversial with an open mind.
